Stardew Valley – Comprehensive Review

Transfiguring Adoption’s Overview:

After working at a seemingly dead-end job, you decide to move to the town of Stardew Valley where your Grandpa has left you an old farm. Clear the farm debris, plant crops, raise animals, cultivate relationships with the other town villagers, and help the Valley thrive. The game is a slow-paced, casual farming simulator with light combat, crafting, and mining.

This game is one of my favorites. Inspired by games like the Harvest Moon series, it scratches that itch of an old time farming simulation, but updates it and adds great depth with its characters’ story lines and progression. Even with over 400 hours in game through multiple playthroughs, I still find surprises and reasons to come back. 

The target age range for this game per the ESRB rating is 10+. Younger children may be attracted to the game due to the colorful art style and relaxed gameplay, but the game does contain mild language, violence, use of alcohol and tobacco, simulated gambling, and some heavy topics that children may not…
