What will you leave behind? Spiritfarer is a cozy management game about dying. You play Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased, a Spiritfarer. Build a boat to explore the world, then befriend and care for spirits before finally releasing them into the afterlife. Farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft you way across mystical seas. Join the the adventure as Daffodil the cat, in two-player cooperative play. Spend relaxing quality time with you spirit passengers, create lasting memories, and ultimately, lean how to say goodbye to your cherished friends.


 


Transfiguring Adoption’s Overview:

You are the new Spiritfarer and your job is to help care for spirits as they journey into the afterlife. The game has a casual, slow-paced gameplay with light farming and management as well as some action platforming.

The target age range for this game is for teens through adult. Younger children may be attracted to the game due to the colorful and hand-drawn art style, but the game does contain mild  language and some heavy topics; a character is often depicted smoking cigarettes, and some characters describe past violence that occurred while they were alive.

What I Thought:

This game was well written and provides a thought provoking, heartfelt journey through the meaning of life and death while trying to keep the heavy subjects light-hearted. It’s a delicate balance and I think…
