Earn International Bragging Rights While Helping Foster Kids
WHAT IS THE QUIDDITCH CHALLENGE?
- A contest that quidditch teams all around the world compete in for the chance to earn their team’s name on the Transfiguring Adoption Trophy and $50 worth of books to their favorite foster care agency.
- A way for teams to make a difference in the lives of foster children by raising funds for foster families through Transfiguring Adoption’s Virtual 5K races. Funds get healing tools into the hands of foster parents. [more info here]
- An opportunity for university students to raise awareness about foster families in the community and work with their school to get community hours doing a fun project.
The Synopsis
Transfiguring Adoption is a nonprofit program that creates media resources to nurture growth in foster-adoptive families. Since many foster parents are ill equipped to handle behaviors that come with PTSD, sexual abuse, malnutrition, etc., TA has not only created online resources but tool kits that help new foster parents successfully begin the healing process for children from trauma. TA’s Virtual 5K races involve the community by giving everyone a way to help fund these kits. Registered racers can run/walk the race ANYWHERE and any time (by the race deadline). All registered participants receive a 5K medal.
The Quidditch Challenge goes one step further to see which quidditch team has the ability to create the best possible change in the lives of foster families and children.
THE RULES
- Team Captain’s must register their team using the form below
- A team is officially registered after receiving a confirmation E-mail
- Team members earn Team Points based on the amount of registrants they get to sign up for the current Virtual 5K Transfiguring Adoption is hosting
(1 race registration is 100 points) - Teams will be able to earn BONUS points by answering a question of the week from the 5K’s Facebook group page (point values will vary)

The Winner
The team with most points at the close of registration will be declared the winner. The team captain will be contacted via E-mail to trophy details and arrange delivery of resources for foster care agency.
