Fostering the Village is a support and resource group where foster, adoptive, and kinship families can find a place to ask their questions about the foster/adoptive journey and get answers in a nonjudgemental atmosphere.

Fostering the Village has been serving families in the Southern Illinois area since 2010. The group changed its name from Community Kids in 2018 to better reflect the audience it is serving. Fostering the Village is a program of 501(c)3 nonprofit, Transfiguring Adoption, NPC.

The group currently serves the Southern Illinois area and meets at Cornerstone Church in Marion, Illinois. The monthly meetings provide a two hour window for caregivers to engage each other in constructive and healthy discussions about foster and adoption while children are being cared for in a separate childcare area on property.

Fostering the Village asks that all interested in attending RSVP for the meeting through the [Group’s Facebook Group page.]

Transfiguring Adoption would love to open up more support groups such as Fostering the Village nationwide. If you’re interested in this endeavor please email: [email protected]
